All the Rave: January Favourites 2019

Well, if it isn’t January ending so quickly! I am so glad to be sharing with you the things I have been loving this month. It was a crazy start for 2019, but these items kept me really happy at heart. I seriously cannot wait to take on February, but until then, I hope you enjoy my January favourites!

1. #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

You probably have heard of the Netflix show (which by the way, I’m still pissed at Netflix for not having them renew for a second season because that show was the literal bomb), but the book is even better! It has a funny, lightweight, entertaining, sassy, sarcastic, and incredibly witty tone which make it relevant for younger readers. I am amazed at how Sophia managed to keep such raw and fresh style of writing while still being able to actually push you to want to work and be the best version of yourself. Other than that, it honestly makes you feel like you’re reading a letter from a friend thus making it seem very personal. The perfect balance between business and self-improvement got me so hooked I’m currently re-reading it for the third time.

2. FOREO Luna Mini 2

I never thought I’d resort to a cleansing gadget after I first tried using this T-Sonic facial massager. I’d describe the experience of using this regularly as a mini home facial spa. The device is made up of smooth silicone and has customizable intensity (I like to keep mine really gentle). Every single time after using it, my skin feels plump and radiant so it puts me in an obligation to use it both in the morning and at night! So, if you need an enjoyable way to cleanse your skin, Foreo is the way to go.

3. Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Midnight Recovery is nourishing and absorbs really quickly so it does not feel heavy on the skin. If you know me, I don’t fancy putting on products that make me feel like I have layers and layers of grease on my face just because it makes me feel uncomfortable when I sleep. But this facial oil is really lightweight and doesn’t get in the way of me getting my Z’s. In all honesty, I haven’t been getting any zits ever since I started religiously applying this on every night. Three drops is enough for a single application, and I just slowly massage my forehead, temple, and cheeks. Also, it has a really mild scent which makes me love it even more.

4. Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

Just like the Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate, this vitamin E mask absorbs quickly and feels light on the skin. The product comes with a little spatula which I personally appreciate because I get to control the amount of cream I scoop out. I have been using it for almost a week now and I haven’t had any breakouts. It gives off a really brightening and glowing effect on the skin, and can also be used as a daytime moisturizer for naturally parched skin. I definitely recommend this as a go-to mask for a smooth and balanced skin.

5. Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask

An honest take on this mask, I cannot promise you an immediate result of clear skin but one thing’s for sure: it made blackhead control easier for me. My blackheads usually appear on my nose, and it’s been less ever since I started using this mask. I use it twice a week, usually on Fridays and Sundays to properly cleanse my pores and so far, it’s been working so good.

6. Tarte Lashy Flashy Lash Curler

One word: CUTE. The Tarte Lashy Flashy is absolutely my new lash bff! It comes as a set, together with Tarte’s iconic lights, camera, lashes mascara. It is a limited edition with that eye-catching pineapple handle that is so hard to resist. What I love about it is it increases my lash volume and actually does a good job of curling it. Plus, who doesn’t love a gold lash curler, right?

7. L’OREAL Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara

Now that I’m taking a short break from wearing lash extensions, my lashes demand volume since I have small eyes. So, can I just say: THIS MASCARA IS THE DEFINITION OF FLAWLESS. It’s definitely more than what I imagined and it gives my thin lashes the perfect amount of volume and blackness. Also, it doesn’t smudge AT ALL and stays on the entire day. Trust me when I say that because I have been using it for almost three weeks now and never have I ever needed to re-apply in the middle of the day.

8. Kylie Cosmetics EXPOSED Liquid Lipstick

I’ve always been a fan of Kylie’s cosmetic products, and I cannot deny the fact that I fancy her lip shades. I have her lip kits in Candy K and Maliboo, too, but I always find myself going back to Exposed. It’s just the perfect nude for my rose-undertoned skin plus, this lippie stays on for 24 hours. I also love its lip liner version and that’s what I use sometimes when I’m not in the mood for the liquid lipstick’s full effect since they basically have the exact same shade. You might want to moisturize your lips first before applying, though, because liquid lipsticks in general are naturally drying when you wear them for a really long time.

9. Victoria’s Journals Flexy Soft Cover Notebook

Ever since I was a little kid, journaling’s already been my thing. So, in addition to my journal collection is this really dainty nude notebook from Victoria’s Journals. As you can probably notice, I’m very fond of light and neutral colors, so when I saw this one at my local bookstore, I knew I just had to get it. The cover is really smooth and neat, and I enjoy reflecting on the daily with this pretty journal.

10. Mirth & Yift Beaded Earring in Helia

My obsession with earrings has recently just begun, and this pair is the perfect way to satisfy that obsession. Last year, my mom launched her very own business, Mirth & Yift, where handcrafting plays a huge importance on branding. And one of her latest collections include this beautiful pair of white beaded earrings. It is available in various bright colors but I personally prefer the white one so it’s easier to mix and match with most of my outfits. It comes with a surgical steel push-pull earring lock so you wouldn’t have to worry about it randomly falling off.

Can’t wait for my next monthly wrap-up!
