But First, Skincare.

Four years ago, I would’ve told you skincare wasn’t something I’d most likely to prioritize. Choosing the perfect routine for my skin wasn’t something I worried about at 16. In fact, I had myself believing that soap and water as my go-to facial care was enough. But as your typical teenager who munches up on junk food quite a lot (even I couldn’t resist the temptation of a good slice of pizza, duh) and wouldn’t exfoliate regularly, I had no idea how these bad habits could affect the skin. Thank goodness that at the age of 18, I finally started realizing the importance of proper skincare. And that’s when I observed change right away.

Since then, I’ve made a vow to myself to set aside time each morning and night to satiate and remedy my oily skin. Right when I get to the bathroom after waking up, I make it a point to cleanse my face, use my toner, and apply some moisturizer—all the shenanigans. At night before bed, I do that same routine with an addition of putting on a face mask. Because at the end of each day, it’s always a good idea to spoil your skin and give it a refreshing break.

What works for me may or may not perfectly work for you, but as long as a routine fits me, I’d definitely stick to that.

As someone who uses a fair amount of makeup regularly, exfoliation is definitely a must for my skin. That way, it assures me that my skin stays well and radiant despite it having several products on on a daily basis. For about twice or thrice a week, the habit of exfoliating my skin using my two favorite SkinFood products; the Black Sugar Perfect Scrub Foam and the Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash-off, is something I’ve acquired as a part of my routine.

Skincare routines are different for everyone. What works for me may or may not perfectly work for you, but as long as a routine fits me, I’d definitely stick to that. You should find one for you, too, just in case you haven’t yet.

Because your skin deserves that glow.

You probably already know that our skin cells shed just about every minute of the day. Imagine all the dead skin cells, sexy am I right? I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want that on your skin, especially not on your face. And if you don’t tend to it now, it’s just going to leave your skin dull and lifeless which you’ll regret later on. Go fetch that routine and give your skin the glow it deserves! Oh, and just a quick tip: a good charcoal wash-off mask (I’d recommend one from Origins) is the most effective when you’re trying to get rid of those dead skin cells.

It’ll save you time in the A.M.

In case you didn’t know yet, the key to achieving the oh-so-popular no makeup makeup is an amazing skin. Having a natural glowing skin saves you extra time in the morning when you’re preparing for work or college because you wouldn’t need layers and layers of foundation to cover up a potentially tired skin. Now, you totally have all the reasons to show off that glow and radiance!

A healthy and beautiful skin isn’t achieved overnight.

Here’s the truth: the kind of glam skin we all want to have requires a process. What you do to your skin today has an impact on how it’s going to look like tomorrow, in a few weeks from now, and even in a few years from now. Better acquaint yourself with a daily skincare routine right now and you’ll see its benefits sooner or later. Trust me, it’s totally worth it!
