Lists? I’m a big fan. But more specifically, to-do lists? Sign me up with no hesitation. October was so sly sneaking up on us like that we didn’t even see it coming. Or did you? Because I definitely did not. One minute I was writing a How to Keep Up with your Resolutions 2019 post and then the next minute here we are with an October to-do list. So yes, I genuinely did not see October coming snatching the year so quick like that. But!!! I did come up with an exciting welcome post for the start of October—a curated list of the little things I want to achieve throughout the month.
Work on some DIY Harry Potter-themed Christmas decorations. Can we talk about me skipping the chance of incorporating the Halloween vibe (since spooky season is just around the corner) and jumping straight to Christmas decorations?! Yep, that’s me. If you know me, you probably also know that Christmas is my favorite holiday and the Harry Potter world is literally home to me.
Recently, I set up a mini Christmas corner in my room. Nothing special and extra, I just put up a little Christmas tree on top of my desk beside some of my books and decorated it with white holiday ornaments and a few lights. But I stumbled upon really cute DIY Harry Potter/Hogwarts-themed Christmas decor pins on Pinterest and I thought—I HAVE TO DO THIS! ALL OF THIS! And so, I did some research and found tutorials on Youtube. I seriously just cannot wait to try them out. Looking forward to seeing the Ford Anglia stuck on my mini Christmas tree!

Write more, blog more. Two weeks ago I had a very interesting encouragement talk with my own self about blogging. I was all caught up in my head thinking, you know, I should probably start blogging more. I launched this in January 2019 but I’ve only produced 2-3 blog posts each month since. Then I came to the realization that I should probably up my game and write more to blog more. So this month, with the help of an actual editorial calendar, I guess it’s safe to say—game on!
Resume the Rory Gilmore Reading Challenge. Earlier this year I began watching Gilmore Girls and as the show progressed, I just couldn’t help but see so much of myself in Rory, especially with her discerning choices when it comes to literature. So what I came to realize was that we actually have very similar taste in books—which made me so happy and excited because I just love her so much! Next thing I did, you guessed it, was look up her reading list online and voila! Thanks to whoever compiled all 399 books referenced in Gilmore Girls. However, I don’t actually plan on reading ALL of 399 books on the list, just those Rory could be seen reading on the show. Although luckily for me, I’ve already read several of the books listed, so at least I’m glad I’ve already given myself a head start even before I found the reading list. So excited to resume this challenge!

Same Rory, same.
Lessen my screen time. I think this is something we all kind of struggle with. With our phones always within our reach it’s so easy to develop the reflex of taking it out when on breaks, waiting in line, or simply doing nothing. And just like some of you I’m also trying my best to reduce the amount of time I spend looking at my phone’s screen. I don’t know about you but I’ve read so many articles that say—instead of getting on your phone when bored or don’t have anything to do, pick up a book instead. Like, just imagine the amount of reading you could get done when you replace screen time with reading. Think of the number of chapters you can finish reading if you give up, say, an hour of screen time? I know—that’s a lot of chapters. That thought motivates me a lot.
