Ok, I’ll cut to the chase. Last time I posted an update it was only the middle of the year, July, or simply put, a long time ago. It’s been three months! Next thing you know, it’s Christmas — no but actually, on a serious note, we are indeed just 2 months away from the holidays… where did the time go? In my case, the answer is college, I’m back to uni!
(Wow, what was that? That was a lot. Look at me blabbering quickly jumping from one topic to another, trying to make up for the months I missed, hahaha…)
Right, today I want to show a quick rundown of the things I’m currently reading, watching, and listening to because it’s been a while since I last did this, and because, well, I’ve been gone for months. Like I said, uni started for me last month, and because of what’s been going on, we’ve transferred to a completely remote learning setup which I’m actually quite enjoying more than I thought I would. On my study breaks, you’ll either find me reading or writing, if not, I’m binging on Netflix just like everyone else at a time like this. So, let’s catch up!
CURRENTLY READING:
We Have Always Lived in the Castle
Because it’s October, of course I’m gonna need myself a spooky read! It’s not really spooky “spooky”, but what attracted me most is the dark atmosphere of the story, as well as Shirley Jackson’s prose. Sadly I couldn’t read the book as quickly as I want and can because of uni, but whenever I get the chance to I try to finish a chapter or two. Currently, I’m in chapter 3. I’ll be leaving the summary provided by Goodreads in case anyone’s interested:
Merricat Blackwood lives on the family estate with her sister Constance and her Uncle Julian. Not long ago there were seven Blackwoods—until a fatal dose of arsenic found its way into the sugar bowl one terrible night. Acquitted of the murders, Constance has returned home, where Merricat protects her from the curiosity and hostility of the villagers. Their days pass in happy isolation until cousin Charles appears. Only Merricat can see the danger, and she must act swiftly to keep Constance from his grasp.
CURRENTLY WATCHING:
The Big Bang Theory

See that Sheldon gif right there? Yeah, that’s me every time I leave the house now in 2020. It’s me. I’m Sheldon.
I started watching this show earlier this year, either February or March I think, but I kind of stopped because I was badly hungover from a 2nd rewatching of Friends and wanted to rewatch it all over again right away, so I had to put TBBT on hold. Last week, I picked up where I left off (S01E06) and oooh I’m so glad I did! I’m currently in season 3 and am really enjoying it so far, I mean from all that studying and homework stress (the good kind of stress!) this kinda show’s just what I need.
CURRENTLY LISTENING:
The Crime Junkie
This is probably the only podcast that has got my full attention right now. Their episodes are interesting and the tension is always there, plus I get really freaked out (haha I asked for it, I knew what I was signing up for) because the cases they talk about are always either suspenseful or gruesome (again, I signed up for it) so you’ll find yourself on your toes until the end of every episode. Which reminds me, I have to catch up on a few new episodes!
That wraps up my little October update, see you around! x
